The start of my online blog for my career!

As a college student working on this blog, I've come across a couple things I'm going to include in here...for example, my resume, a sample of my research paper writing skills, and a simple biography of me and how I've gotten to the point I'm at now in life.

Right now, I'm working on my resume and just putting the final touches on it. I'm also working on getting an internship for the summer. I was thinking along the lines of Pepsi Cola with the actual company, not working for the bottling group. If not Pepsi, then perhaps Universal Studios or Disney. Being a marketing major, I'd like to get involved in the advertising or public relations parts of those companies. Last summer I worked at Victoria's Secret and learned about how certain advertisements worked better than others and I would like to delve deeper into it.

Other career interests include business management, finance, and entertainment.

On Friday, I'm going to career services to take an assessment test that's going to help me narrow down my choices for a career by determining what I'm good at and what I'm not so good at doing. After I take that test, I'll get my results in like a week and then meet with the assistant director of career services, Jill Rushbrook. I have met with her before and she's a very helpful woman.

Next on my agenda is to finish up my cover letter and re-sumbit it to Mrs. Hansen. The position that I targeted was an internship with Orlando Sentinel which seemed really interesting. I'm also going to start looking for some other internships with potential for this summer. Hypothetically, I'd like something close to my house in Melbourne, Florida; but I doubt that will happen.

Still working on getting a letter of recommendation from my past employers, although I'm not sure if that will work either because it's been a long time since I've worked at some of them.

I suppose I'll end on that note and get to work on some of my things.
